The Real Threat to Democracy is NOT Donald Trump

It seems that daily we hear from President Biden, Democrats, and the media, that if Donald Trump is elected president, our democracy will die.  This baseless fearmongering will most certainly ramp up in the days to come as America draws closer to the presidential election on November 5th, 2024.

The real attack on democracy began with the election of Barack Obama – the most intentionally divisive and anti-American president in history. It really ramped up with the later selection of Joe Biden to continue Obama’s desire to transform the country into a socialist utopia.

Was a short-lived unorganized riot on January 6th, 2021 in Washington D.C. an attack on Democracy?  No.  Democracy was never in danger that day.  Watch the unedited films – the one the Democrats don’t want people to see.  January 6th just became gleeful fodder for the left and media – a ginned-up gift that seems to keep on giving.  How about examining the White House’s response to that riot?

Remember the 10-foot-high borders of chain link fence, with concertina wire on top surrounding the Capitol after the 6th?  The National Guard patrolling the perimeter of the “people’s house?”  The people’s house is the United States Capitol.    Why the militarized fortress?  Don’t forget, this was not a temporary measure in fear of another riot.  Walling off the Capitol- THE PEOPLE’S HOUSE – to the American people lasted until March of 2021!  The optics were frightening and simply put in place to show the people just how powerful our “elected” leaders have become.  And how ironic that the Democrats wanted to protect borders for once!  Leading into the next point….

Open Borders.  A country without borders is not a country.  Millions of illegal aliens have come into the United States since Biden intentionally halted many of the tools that President Trump left in place to control the border.  Policies (like “Remain in Mexico”, in which migrants had to remain in Mexico pending any court dates in the United States for asylum hearings) were very successful in limiting border crossings.

Trump had crossings down to a manageable trickle of what they are now.  Biden and Co. did away with Trump’s policies and directives almost immediately.  They even developed a “phone app” for illegals to use to make it easier to enter the country!  Now, Joe Biden is the Commander in Chief.  He is charged with the task of protecting the citizens of the United States by defending and upholding the U.S. Constitution.

Shouldn’t Biden be tried for treason for dereliction of duty?  He is allowing people, many with evil intent, and the deadly drug Fentanyl to come across the border unchecked. By the millions.

The state of Texas, overrun with illegals, took matters into its own hands to control its border.  Guess what happened? Biden and Co. are now going after the governor of Texas with a lawsuit to cease and desist from protecting their border! And what is so revealing is that all the so-called “Sanctuary Cities” (always headed by Democratic leaders) that welcome illegals with open arms are now a bit overwhelmed by so many coming to their cities.

However, rather than focus on the real problem – open borders – the Sanctuary Cities simply cry out for more taxpayer dollars to help with the illegal alien crush.  Why does the left always think more money is the answer to their self-created problems?  The root cause needs to be addressed – finish the border wall and re-institute Trump’s successful policies to save our country!

One example of tyrannical rule (the opposite of a democracy) includes silencing one’s opposition.  This is the type of activity that is common in communist or socialist countries but is going on right now in the United States.  The media work together with those in power (and whose ideology they agree with), to not allow the people to hear any opposing views or different opinions from what they deem to be appropriate.

For example, after the Iowa Caucuses were over with a Trump win, it was shocking to listen to Rachel Maddow on MSNBC stating that they were no longer going to give an unfiltered, live platform to President Trump.  They would not carry his victory speech.  Maddow stated: “It is not out of spite, it is not a decision that we relish, it is a decision that we regularly revisit. And, honestly, earnestly, it is not an easy decision. But there is a cost to us, as a news organization of knowingly broadcasting untrue things.”

Maddow’s statement should be a cause for grave concern and a red flag for every patriotic American. The left is openly admitting that they are going to filter information!    They will only be telling you what they want you to know.  In a free world, this is terrifying. Big Brother – the media – is defining what is truth and what you should believe.  If you speak out in opposition and think differently, beware of what can happen to you.  Yet, the left has the gall to call Trump “Hitler” when everything they themselves are doing is Hitleresque.

As the cartoon character, Pogo once stated: “We have found the enemy, and he is us.”

The Democratic Party itself IS the real danger to Democracy.   Not Donald Trump.

Dairyland Sentinel Wants AG to Intervene, Require DPI Public Records Disclosure

(The Center Square) – The Dairyland Sentinel is asking the Wisconsin Department of Justice to intervene in what it believes is an unfulfilled public records request.

The publication has continued to request a contract between the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and Forward Exam test contractor Data Recognition Corp. related to a standards-setting conference in the summer of 2024 in the Wisconsin Dells that would have justified DRC’s use of non-disclosure agreements with conference attendees.

The contract was first requested in January 2025 and again in February. Dairyland Sentinel Publisher Brian Fraley asked DOJ to intervene in the matter based upon guidance that Attorney General Josh Kaul published last year.

“DPI has tried to convince reporters that this issue has been settled,” Fraley told The Center Square. “It has not.”

Fraley’s initial report on the conference led Wisconsin’s Joint Committee on Finance to delay a $1 million funding request to DPI with the committee later releasing $1.75 million to the department after the committee asked questions about the conference.

DPI then released a list breaking down specific costs to WisPolitics, not to Dairyland Sentinel or The Center Square.

Fraley said that he initially filed the request after reading DPI Superintendent Jill Underly's guest column noting that changes to the state’s Forward Exam standards were the result of a 100-person advisory committee, not decisions made by DPI.

“This is the most impactful education policy change in a decade and it’s clouded with secrecy,” Fraley said.

“This is a massive public policy decision that has impacted every single parent of school-aged kids in Wisconsin, whether they attend public school or not, because every single parent is empowered to determine what’s the best school for their kids and one of the factors they use is test scores and how they relate to the state benchmark.”

Fraley said that there is likely to be more that will still come from the meeting, including the Institute for Reforming Government’s belief that the committee constitutes an ad hoc committee, meaning the meetings should have been noticed, public and minutes should have been kept.

IRG recently requested that a special committee be formed to look into the conference.

Fraley then noted that a later DPI conference on federal funding advised school district that they could use federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act funding to attend the conference, also held in the Wisconsin Dells.

He cited federal uniform grant guidance stating that grant spending must be “necessary and reasonable” and that the federal government could audit local school districts for that use of IDEA funds.
