“Affordability.” It’s the new buzzword coming from the Democrats and media designed to attack President Trump. The left wants to make Americans believe that the economy is so horrible and everything is out of reach for hard-working Americans, due to President Trump. Such is not true. Far from it. Just as they tried to make Americans believe that President Biden was “sharp as a tack” and “the smartest person in the room” for four long, horrid years.
Now they are asking us to believe that the economy is in the tank. President Trump is supposedly continuing to ruin it. No one can afford anything. The economic picture is oh-so-bleak. The AP is totally complicit in reporting such, doing pretzel contortions to make any good economic news sound bad. “Affordability” could honestly be defined as “Bidenomics that increased inflation more than the country had ever experienced and took the American dream out of reach of many Americans.” President Trump and his administration are trying their best to rectify that.
Right now, according to the AP and left, hardly anyone can afford anything except for the millionaires and billionaires that the libs detest with a passion. One has to wonder – how many Democrats who hate Trump are themselves millionaires or billionaires (Bernie Sanders? Nancy Pelosi? Etc.)? Quite a lot, according to statistics. And isn’t envy one of the Seven Deadly Sins? Yet, for the liberal crowd, envy these days is being treated as a virtue. How many protests have we seen in which people attack others for having more than they do? Making more money than they do? Living supposedly better lives than they do? They never stop and think that these millionaires and billionaires aren’t hurting them personally in any way. They are not taking anything away from them.
The economic pie in our country, due to a capitalist system, is not stagnant. Those who are poor may eventually become rich. Those who are rich may eventually become poor. Wealth – and the ability to achieve it, is limitless. What one chooses to do with their life offers opportunities beyond what any other country can provide.
Get an education. Work hard. Take responsibility for your own actions. Make good life choices. Someone once said that a recipe for success is to finish school, get a job, get married, and then have children. Do those four things in that exact order, and your chances of being poor are slim. Of course, there are exceptions, but for the most part, such rings true.
Rather than being vilified, success and those who are successful should be championed. We should be shouting Good Job!!! Rather than hating anyone who has achieved the American dream! Everyone in our country has the opportunity to do the same. Why not celebrate success??? In that same vein, our children need to be educated about the evils of socialism and communism.
For some reason, the left (and many of our public schools) have decided to present and teach these options to a capitalist system as warm and fuzzy alternatives. I implore every school system and every parent to educate their children about the evils of such.
Socialism and communism are not to be admired. Capitalism allows for freedoms and opportunities that socialism and communism do not. The recent election of an openly socialist/communist as the mayor of New York City is just one example of how ignorant people are of history. We must fight against such, and that will begin at home and in the classroom. President Reagan once stated, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.” The uptick in support for socialism should not be ignored; rather, it should be fought.
So now we have “affordability” as an attack weapon. Let’s review that more closely. The left and the media (especially the AP) would like us to believe that everything is more expensive. Oh, how horrible the economy is! Yet, let’s look at a few examples that people who go about their daily lives experience, rather than what the media is trying to spin. How about gas prices? Under Biden, the average price per gallon in June 2022 peaked at an average of $5.06, the highest on record. California was even higher, but that state is so out of control that their costs are an anomaly, reflecting an ultra-liberal government with over-regulation and rules.
Since President Trump took office, the price of gas has averaged $2.75 per gallon. In many places, it is even less. Don’t you think people notice? Same at the grocery store. The price of eggs, which everyone was aware of during the Biden years (except the media), cost an average of $6.22 during Biden’s term. Since Trump took office, the price has averaged around $2.52 or less. Milk was actually selling for almost $4.00 a gallon when Biden was in charge. Now it averages around $3.00 a gallon.
Another prime indicator has been spending. People ARE spending more than during the Biden years – at Halloween, Black Friday, and for Christmas. An increase of at least 8% to during Biden’s term. Isn’t that in itself a good indicator that people have more money and are feeling better about their financial situations? Why can’t the media honestly report such?
President Biden introduced the worst inflation in the country in 48 years. 21.4%!!! 21.4% INFLATION!!! Do not forget that. It is THE key to some of the financial challenges our country faces today. By throwing money at people to “survive” the Covid years (including billions given to public schools that have not even been spent!), Biden increased inflation and truly crashed the economy.
It is far easier to destroy something than it is to fix it, and Biden and Co. did a great job making people’s lives financially miserable. President Trump and his Administration have taken on the mess that Biden left head-on, and addressed all the wrongs, and they are working to make them right, making life easier and more affordable for the American people. It will take time and patience (unlike envy), which is a real virtue.
In summary, there are a lot of shiny objects that the left is throwing out there to distract from the real issues. The Epstein Files didn’t work to get Trump. Outrage over the White House grand ballroom did not work to get Trump. Complaining about drones destroying Venezuelan drug boats didn’t work to get Trump. Clutching pearls over Trump calling Somali people “garbage” didn’t work to get Trump. Fighting law enforcement and ICE hasn’t worked to get Trump.
Championing murderers (like Luigi Mangione) didn’t work to get Trump. And of course, we have the nonsense of an unorganized riot on January 6th, which is the expected fallback position to get Trump (when all else fails). (One really has to wonder WHY the Democrats are always on the wrong side – standing up for those who hate our country and have not desire to obey its laws).
The media and the left are so desperate to “get Trump” on just about anything. And they are failing over and over. One would think after the election last November, they would have toned down the hatred and decided that putting America first IS in their best interest. They could not bring themselves to do so. They did not learn their lesson. They did not learn that the American people are on to the biased reporting and anti-Trump spin and are sick of the “hate America” crowd.
The Democrats have shown over and over that they care more about power than they do about doing what is right for the country. So now “affordability” is their new term to “get Trump.” Where, oh where was their concern about “affordability” during the Biden term? Hopefully, the 2026 midterm elections will show that the American people realize how despicable the left truly is and vote accordingly.
