Gina Cefalu Paulick, current Village Trustee for Mount Pleasant, officially announced her candidacy for Wisconsin State Assembly District 66, which includes Mount Pleasant, Sturtevant, Elmwood Park, and South Racine. She stressed a commitment to helping small businesses succeed, as well as a focus on strong schools, economic opportunity and safe neighborhoods.
In a video, she said she is running for state Legislature because she wants to help “protect the Wisconsin way of life,” including a sense of community.
“My life has been about service,” she said.
In a press release, “Paulick said she is running to address the issues residents discuss most often at their doors and around kitchen tables: rising property taxes, housing affordability, the overall cost of living, strong schools, support for law enforcement, and helping small businesses thrive.”
“Raised in a military family, Paulick credits her father’s service in the United States Air Force with teaching her the values of service, discipline, and responsibility. After graduating from the University of Washington with a degree in Communications, she built a successful career in sales before spending more than 20 years as a Realtor in Northern California.”
The incumbent Democrat Greta Neubauer recently voted against a surplus deal that would have exempted people’s tips and overtime from taxation; funded school special education programs; and given property tax relief to Wisconsinites, including disabled veterans.
Paulick later relocated to Wisconsin “to join her husband Scott, a Racine native whose family has lived in Racine for four generations. Together, Gina and Scott have five adult children, all with strong ties to Wisconsin schools and communities,” she wrote.
“Currently serving as a Trustee for the Village of Mount Pleasant, Paulick is also a member of the CDA and EMS Committees. She serves her neighborhood as President of the Rolling Fields Homeowners Association and has been actively involved in numerous civic and community organizations throughout Racine County.”

A longtime member of Toastmasters International, Paulick “previously served as President of the Racine Toastmasters club. She also serves on the Racine GOP Board and has chaired major community and Republican events, including the Racine County Fair activities and the Lincoln Day Dinner Gala. Paulick said improving educational outcomes for students while supporting teachers and parents is one of her top priorities,” added the release.
“We need to refocus on helping students succeed in reading, writing, and math while supporting the teachers and parents who are working hard every day,” Paulick said. “Safe neighborhoods, strong schools, affordable living, and economic opportunity are issues that affect every family in District 66.”
She also emphasized her commitment to “supporting small businesses and reducing unnecessary burdens that make it harder for local businesses to grow and succeed,” the release said.
“I am focused on the issues that matter to the residents of District 66,” Paulick said. “I am committed to representing all people and being a voice for our communities. I will listen, take action, and always be approachable and responsive.”
“As our nation celebrates 250 years of American freedom, I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to live in this country and serve our community,” she added. “There is so much we can do in Madison to help families here at home in District 66. I look forward to meeting voters across the district and earning their trust and support.”
