Nolan Jensen, a conservative lawyer who promises to apply the law as written and hold criminals accountable, announced that he is running for Washington County Circuit Court Branch 4. The seat is currently held by Tony Evers appointee Sandra Giernoth. The general election will take place on April 6, 2027.

Top Republicans immediately rallied around his candidacy. Jensen was endorsed by top conservatives, including Washington County Executive Josh Schoemann, Washington County DA Barry Braatz, state Reps. Jim Piwowarczyk and Dan Knodl, and more.

“Jensen will bring a steadfast and welcome commitment to the bench: interpreting the law as it is written and enforcing tougher sentencing and bail. He identified a critical need for public safety, constitutional integrity, and judicial accountability as his reasons for running,” a press release from Jensen states.

“My philosophy is straightforward: I will interpret the Constitution as originally intended, apply the law as it is written, and hold criminals fully accountable for their actions,” said Jensen.

He continued, “Washington County isn’t just where I practice law, it’s where I was born, raised, and choose to live and raise my family. I have spent my entire career fighting for what’s right, and it is my commitment to you that I will continue to fight for what’s right for you and our families. It would be an honor to receive the support of my neighbors in Washington County.”

The press release added, “Jensen’s candidacy has drawn the attention of trusted residents and leaders throughout Washington County.”
