Milwaukee Press Club 'Excellence in Wisconsin Journalism' 2020 & 2021 Award Winners

Henry Perez For Racine Mayor

Remember the Insurrection? No, Not that one. The one in Madison in 2011, When “Comrade” Cory Mason threw open his office window and flooded our State capitol with protesters and held our capital building under siege for 30 days. The resulting chaos in Wisconsin was in the national spotlight for over a month as Act 10 went through anyway.

Remember when Mayor Cory Mason opened the door to Mark Zuckerbucks to buy the election in Wisconsin under the cover of Covid “safety” measures. It was Cory and his corrupt staff that were behind the entire operation in the Wisconsin Five project

It was also Mayor Cory Mason who turned over his authority to an unelected bureaucrat: Dottie Bowersox; who then harassed businesses and families for trying to economically survive this Covid hysteria. It was Cory Mason and the Racine Education Association who kept our children out of school. The students of the city of Racine are arguably the most critically in need of good education. Cory and the REA have done a huge disservice to those future employees and leaders of Racine.

Racine is at a crossroads. We see crime in Milwaukee and Chicago on the rise, and crime is up 70% in our city. Mason is more concerned about “wokeness” and checking special interest boxes, rather than hiring the most qualified people for the job. The city of Racine is THE most diverse city in the state, he shouldn’t have to pick winners and losers based on special categories. Mason didn’t get support from 57% of primary voters. His record is clear on our police force. Mason got caught up in the hysteria of George Floyd, which allowed riots and vandalism in our city. Since 2018, Mason has underfunded, understaffed, and undermined our police force. Once faced with a serious challenger, he was forced to negotiate contracts with our police and firefighters. Almost immediately both of those groups endorsed his opponent, Henry Perez.

Makes you wonder who actually likes him as Mayor. Racine is a left-leaning city and yet almost half a million dollars are being spent with money from the East Coast and California Liberals to save Mason’s bacon. Almost all of Perez’s donations come from Racine area voters.

Henry Perez has 18 years of Police experience, including serving with Miami Vice. Henry Perez has been a pastor for 40 years. He’s raised his family in Racine. Henry was born in Communist Cuba and came to the U.S. as a young boy with his mother. Henry has a master’s in theology, police training, extensive emergency experience, and is currently a special education teacher with RUSD. Henry Perez has worked with our hospitality center to help homeless and underprivileged people to get back on track. Alder Henry has been the one Alderman for 10 years that folks and businesses could turn to when the City administration ignored them.

Henry Perez is the fresh new CHANGE for our community needs. Henry is a problem solver. He knows the first thing to consider is safety. Restoring our forces to full staff ASAP. Once we feel safe again in Racine; we’ll see the reinvestment in our city and we can all thrive, work, play and raise our families and even retire in this great place on Lake Michigan.

Henry will take a fresh look at the staff, the budget and our city’s priorities. Perez is supported by the leadership of our neighboring communities who have been flipped off by Cory Mason and his “Woke” policies and uncooperative staff.

Henry Perez will NEVER shut down our businesses, our schools, or our lives. The evidence is clear that nearly every action taken by the Federal and City Govt abused U.S. citizens. The hyped-up COVID pandemic was abused for POLITICAL reasons is unquestionable. Never again should we permit this. No more virtual signaling to impress Hollywood and the DNC.

The citizens of Racine are ready for something new. Let’s vote for Henry Perez and bring Racine back to its glory days.

2026 GOP Candidate Josh Schoemann Challenges Evers’ Budget Approach

(The Center Square) – Josh Schoemann, the only Republican currently in the race for governor next year, is criticizing Gov. Tony Evers’ approach to the next state budget by comparing it to his plans in Washington County.

“In Washington County our budget cycle starts right now, and it’s not due until November. We will propose our budget goals to the County Board in the next couple of months. We will share ‘This is what we’re thinking.’ It gives them months of time to think those through, give us feedback, and [have] that kind of dialogue,” Schoemann explained in an interview on News Talk 1130 WISN.

Schoemann said that is far better than the approach Evers is taking again this year.

“That’s not how government is supposed to work,” Schoemann said. “It’s not the vision of the governor. It’s not the vision of any one person.”

Evers and the Republican legislative leaders who will write the budget have been involved in on-again, off-again budget talks this month. On Thursday, the governor’s office said those talks were off once again because of gridlock in the Senate.

“Ultimately, the Senate needs to decide whether they were elected to govern and get things done or not,” Evers spokesperson Britt Cudaback said in a post on X.

Schoemann’s criticism of Evers is nothing new. He has long been a critic of the governor and has turned that criticism up since launching his campaign for governor.

But the recent criticism was also aimed at other Republicans who may jump into the 20206 governor’s race later this year.

“Nobody else in this race on the Republican side, being rumored to this point, has the executive leadership of skills and history to be able to show ‘This is how I’ve done it before, and here’s how we’ll do it Madison,’” Schoemann said. “The results in Washington County speak for themselves.”

Northwoods Congressman Tom Tiffany is also rumored to be looking to get into the Republican race. Before he went to Congress, Tiffany was a Republican lawmaker in Madison.

Businessman and veteran Bill Berrien is also on the short list of likely GOP candidates for 2026.
