State Representative Adam Neylon announced Wednesday that he is running for Waukesha County Executive, centering his campaign around protecting taxpayers and preserving the county’s values.
Neylon said in a press release that he is “bringing more than a decade of experience in the Wisconsin State Assembly to the community he proudly calls home.” The other candidate in the race to replace the late Paul Farrow is state Sen. Chris Kapenga, also a Republican.
“I’m running because Waukesha County is my home. I love this place. I believe our families deserve leadership that puts community first, delivers results, protects taxpayers and preserves the values that make this place so special,” said Neylon.
Neylon “came to Waukesha County as a college student attending Carroll University. He built his career here, started a business, met his wife, Hannah, and started a family,” his press release says.
“Waukesha County has given me so much,” Neylon said. “I believe when a community gives you that much, you owe something back.”
“For more than a decade, Neylon has served Waukesha County in the Wisconsin State Assembly, fighting to grow the economy, hold government accountable and protect taxpayers,” the release adds. “He has chaired the Committee on Jobs and Economy, worked on energy and infrastructure, authored Wisconsin’s REINS Act and supported Gail’s Law to expand access to potentially lifesaving breast cancer screenings.”
“Those experiences have taught me a lot about government,” Neylon said. “Good government is about protecting what works, fixing what doesn’t and having the courage to prepare for what’s coming next.”
Neylon said he is ready to bring that experience home and get to work on day one.
“His priorities are straightforward: hold the line on spending and taxes, make growth pay for growth, invest in infrastructure, tackle housing and embrace new technology responsibly while supporting public safety and protecting privacy and individual freedom,” his release adds.
“We have something great here,” Neylon said. “Our job is to make the most of what taxpayers have already built, improve it and deliver results for the people who call Waukesha County home.”
According to the release, Neylon said his goal “is to keep Waukesha County a place where families can put down roots, businesses can grow and the next generation can build a future.”
“You have to have a vision worthy of the job,” Neylon said. “I have one. And I’m ready to get to work.”
After more than a decade in Madison, Neylon said he is “ready to put his experience to work for the entire county.”
“I’ve spent more than a decade fighting for Waukesha County in Madison. Now I’m ready to bring that experience home, deliver results and keep serving the community I’m proud to call home.”
“Let’s protect what works, fix what doesn’t, prepare for what’s next and keep Waukesha County winning,” he added.
