Milwaukee police have found the body of Major Harris, the missing 3-year-old boy who was the subject of an Amber Alert, Wisconsin Right Now has learned.
“With a heavy heart, we have found Major Harris deceased at N. 35th Street and West Rohr,” Police Chief Jeffrey Norman confirmed in a news conference. “This is still an active and very fluid investigation.”
Norman said it was an ongoing investigation. “As soon as we found out there was a child missing, the Amber Alert went out.” He said police “have to be strategic in our resources being utilized,” when asked by a Milwaukee television reporter about Harris’s father’s criticism of police over their search for the child.
“This is a big resource putting together. It’s strategic, but we also understand the urgency and the seriousness,” Norman said. He said it’s not yet clear how long Harris was there.
Sources tell us that Milwaukee police were searching the area of 35th and Rohr for the missing child when they tragically found him dead.
The sad development was unfolding on the afternoon of October 21, 2021.
Harris was the subject of an Amber Alert after his mother was found murdered.
“Major Harris, age 3, is the son of a homicide victim who was located deceased at 2600 block of N. 37th St. in Milwaukee and is still missing. Jaheem K Clark who is a person of interest in the homicide has been located. Vehicle of interest is a black 2008 Chevrolet Equinox bearing Wisconsin auto plate # ABE2804 and has been located,” the Amber Alert for the child says. “CHILD LAST SEEN WEARING: Dark blue t-shirt with small pocket on left side, navy blue Nike basketball shorts, and is barefoot.”
Mallery Muenzenberger, 24, the child’s mother, was found shot to death inside a home in the 2600 block of North 37th Street. Police have made arrests in connection with her homicide. The Amber Alert had originally named a man named Jaheem Clark as the person of interest, but he was later found dead of self-inflicted gunshot wounds with no sign of the child.
