As America prepared to celebrate its Independence Day, New York’s socialist mayor, Zohran Mamdani, delivered an angry July 3 rant ahead of America’s 250th, using the term “arena of supremacy,” and pessimistically railing about what he sees as America’s many failures.
Rebecca Cooke, the leftist political operative and campaign fundraiser (including for Kirk Bangstad), who is running in the 3rd congressional district, publicly supports Mamdani. She said so on video. She has yet to call out his remarks or withdraw her support.
“Never Forget: @RebeccaforWI ENDORSED this train wreck of an Anti-American. Remember in November,” Cooke’s opponent, former Navy SEAL Derrick Van Orden wrote in response.
Mamdani called federal law enforcement agents “masked agents terrorizing our streets” and ranted about “oligarchs.” Mamdani, a naturalized citizen, was born in Uganda and holds dual citizenship. He also claimed Americans held “riots aimed at their very existence,” referring to illegal immigrants. It’s not clear what riots he’s talking about. Mamdani railed about people who achieve wealth in the U.S.. “Mamdani did not mention his own family’s wealth in the speech. His father was an elite Harvard academic, and his mother an acclaimed film director,” Fox News reported.
“The powerful have always known their answer. America, in their view, is an arena of supremacy where only a select few are allowed freedom,” Mamdani said, calling the powerful in America small, weak and unoriginal.

Rebecca Cooke Supports Socialist Zohran Mamdani
“If you lived in New York City right now, who would you be supporting as mayor?” a person asked Cooke on camera at an event.
“Mamdani,” she responded, without hesitation.
Van Orden has criticized socialism.
“I have been supporting myself financially since I was 16 years old,” Van Orden wrote. “By the time I was 38 years old, I had already been a Navy SEAL for a decade w/ multiple combat tours, had 4 kids, purchased a home and vehicles, and knew that socialism sucks.”
