Revoke Visa Authority [Up Against the Wall]

UW Reforms

Disney in Abu Dhabi – I get it, they want to open in a new market, and admittedly, since I’ve been to nearby Dubai, I can understand why Disney wants to open a theme park in the region. (They love Americans in Dubai;  the Brits no so much.) But seriously, how about Disney reinvesting in Disney World in Florida, where the theme parks are in desperate need of total revamping.  We used to take the kids there for a week every winter (using our Disney vacation club points), and many of the rides (ok most) are old and out of date.  The technology has changed so much, yet Disney keeps milking their 1970’s-built rides and technology.  It’s like riding in a Model T on the interstate highway.

Dragging out Biden – So they dragged Biden out of the nursing home (🤪) to say what he’s told on the View. Seriously?  Every time he opens his mouth, he just reinforces the decision that Americans made last November.  But hey, if they want to keep doing this, that’s fine with me.

Nvidia Chips and China – I get it, Nvidia is thinking of selling old model A.I. chips to China to allegedly get around the new rules on keeping such technology out of China’s hands.  How about a more Reaganesque approach? Put a backdoor in the old chips that they sell overseas so American forces can use the backdoor to shut off the use of the chips when China attacks Taiwan? (Reagan had a backdoor put into software sold to the allies so he could verify what they said was what they were doing, and it worked.)a

Revoke University Visa Authority – Attention Team Trump – If you want to really punish the universities and colleges who refuse to eliminate DEI and the boys in the girls’ locker rooms, Trump can simply cancel those universities’ authority to issue visas to foreigners. Did you know that the INS gives universities and colleges – and even high schools and elementary schools – the authority to issue visas?  And it’s virtually unlimited in the sense of they can do what they want.  Sure, the INS checks in and inspects their files once a year or so, but that’s it.

Even my kids’ private elementary school had that authority – to bring in students from overseas.

The bonus would be if such authority was revoked, then those seats would open up for American students.  In fact, I think Trump should issue an executive order ordering universities that receive federal funds to give first priority to admitting American students first. And only after they have exhausted admitting all Americans that want in, only then any left over seats can be used for foreigners. This is insane that federally funded universities – using taxpayer dollars – are rejecting American students in favor of admitting foreigners.
