Longtime Prosecutor Paul Dedinsky announced his campaign for a seat on the Waukesha County Circuit Court, Branch 3, with the endorsements of Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Annette Ziegler and Justice Rebecca Bradley.
The election will be held on April 6, 2027.
“The citizens of Waukesha County want judges who will keep our families safe,” Dedinsky said. “I look forward to sharing my track record in this regard with voters and earning their support.”
According to his campaign website, Dedinsky is a 25-year veteran prosecutor who has worked in the criminal justice system for over thirty years. He received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison Law School in 1993 and his Ph.D. in Education and Leadership in 2012.
Governor Walker first appointed Dedinsky as Chief Legal Counsel to the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP) from 2017 to 2018. Walker then appointed him to serve as a circuit court judge (2019–2020).
Dedinsky taught law at Marquette University Law School and business law, legal ethics, and business leadership to undergrads and graduate students at Cardinal Stritch.
According to his press release, all four constitutional conservative judges on the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, District II, for the upcoming term have endorsed Dedinsky:
Court of Appeals Judge Mark Gundrum: “Paul and I have been close friends for 20 years. With his experience as a longtime prosecutor, he’s the one I trust to keep my family—and all of our families in Waukesha County—safe.”
Court of Appeals Judge Shelley Grogan: “I wholeheartedly endorse Paul Dedinsky for Waukesha County Circuit Court. He is a principled conservative who has demonstrated that he will apply the law as written; support our Constitutions; and faithfully guard against encroachment of our liberties. He has my full support.”
Court of Appeals Judge Maria Lazar: “Now, more than ever, we need judges who respect the law. Paul Dedinsky will do precisely that.”
Court of Appeals Judge-elect Anthony LoCoco: “I could not be more excited to endorse former Governor Walker-appointed judge and career prosecutor, Paul Dedinsky, for the Waukesha County bench. Paul is well known to so many of us precisely because he has already devoted his life’s work to making Wisconsin a safer place for our families. I also know him to be a person of deep faith and true integrity. He is the perfect fit for this important position.”
