Safety for me, but not for thee?
WTMJ-TV’s Ben Jordan allowed an anonymous woman to hide her face while trashing ICE for wearing masks – a hypocrisy the stone-faced reporter gave no hint of perceiving.
State Rep. Jim Piwowarczyk (R-Hubertus), the co-founder of Wisconsin Right Now, pointed out the hypocrisy in a Facebook post.

“TMJ4 News interviews a woman complaining about federal agents wearing face masks, as she insists on not showing or face or name out of concerns for her family’s safety,” he noted. Weren’t liberals the same people demanding everyone wear masks just a few years ago?
ICE agents wear masks for their own safety. DHS told Jordan that Milwaukee’s ordinance banning face masks is unconstitutional and endangers the lives of law enforcement.
But of course the anonymous woman didn’t hold herself to the same “reveal yourself!” standard.
“A Milwaukee woman, who asked that her name and face not be shared out of fears for her family, described the emotional toll of the enforcement operation,” Jordan wrote, apparently with a straight face.
“It’s very heartbreaking because I could definitely relate. I have family members that, as I said, they’re just scared to go out and do what they even have to go to a grocery store,” she said.
“When asked what it means to see agents wearing face masks, the woman said: ‘It just feels like they’re doing whatever they want and we just have to take it in the chin, and it’s just not right. Why do they have to wear masks? We’re not walking around covering ourselves, so why are they covering themselves?'” continued Jordan’s story, which was slanted against ICE.
Jordan doesn’t mention how many of the people in the targeted enforcement operation were criminals with records. He also didn’t give any details about the background of the anonymous woman’s family members.
